Terhenetär
Terhenetär
Spirit of Mist and Fog (Finnish Mythology)
In Finnish mythology, Terhenetär is a hazy forest spirit of mist and fog. A guardian of the forests and their many mysteries, softening the world and blurring the lines between seen and unseen.
Legend says that Terhenetär can hide animals, travelers and even entire landscapes with a whisper of fog, offering protection and safety to those in need.
For me she’s a reminder that not everything in this world needs to be revealed. This includes ourselves too. Our secrets are the greatest of luxuries, and should be shared with only for those who truly deserves them.
"In silver silence I linger,
whispering gently for those in need
of protection and shield.
Not all must be spoken,
not all must be seen —
secrets are keys to sacred realms
hidden by my veil of purest greens.
Step softly through my shadow,
for wonder is never far —
in the hush of the morning’s shroud
you’ll find out who you are."
