Hi there! I'm Tiia.

A photographer with a deep, lifelong connection to the beauty and serenity of Finnish nature.

My journey with photography began in my early teens when I received my first camera, sparking a passion that has stayed with me through the years. For most of that time, photography was my peaceful escape, a way to pause and breathe amid the busyness of life. I explored many styles - capturing everything from horses to landscapes, cityscapes and products - but it wasn’t until 2024, with the creation of The Epiphany Collection, that I truly discovered the profound meaning photography holds for me. At that moment, I knew without a doubt that this was my true calling.

Nature, especially the wild forests of Finland, has always been my happy place. It’s more than just a backdrop for my photos - it’s a sacred space where I feel a deep sense of belonging. To me, well-being isn’t possible without nature. I walk in the woods with respect, knowing I am part of something ancient and vast. Nature isn’t ours to take from; it’s something to honor and this belief is central to my photography. Sometimes, the forest gifts me a perfect shot and other times it offers nothing, and that’s okay. Every moment spent there is a gift.

Through my work, I want to evoke feelings of peace, calmness & wonder.

I hope my photos inspire you to pause, take a deep breath and reconnect with the world around you. We live in a time where the ordinary is often overlooked in the search for the extraordinary. I focus on those small, seemingly insignificant details - like dew drops or quirky flowers - because they remind us that we don’t need to be the best or the brightest to be valuable and loved. We are all perfectly imperfect, just like nature.

Photography is a personal journey for me, and it’s been a long one. Like many, I faced challenges, especially during the pandemic when I lost my 9-5 job. But that period pushed me toward entrepreneurship, and after years of struggle and learning, I realized photography was where I belonged. Now, I’m dedicated to capturing the beauty of Finnish nature and sharing its story with the world. My creative process is intuitive - I take my camera, wander and let the world unfold before me. There’s no set formula, just the flow of the moment.

Every piece I create is infused with the values I hold dear: kindness, gentleness, respect for others and a deep appreciation for nature. Sustainability is also key to my work. I’m proud to partner with a local, family-run print house that shares my commitment to the environment.

At the heart of my work is the desire to connect with people. Whether through the stories I share with each piece or the emotions my art evokes, I hope to create a bond with everyone who experiences my photography. I want you to feel seen, supported and inspired when you look at my work. Art is a way for us to connect and I hope my photographs bring peace, calmness and a sense of belonging to your space.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my work. I hope my art can remind you of how precious and extraordinary our everyday lives - and nature - truly are.

Fun Facts

Q: What Inspired Your Deep Connection To Nature?

"Growing up in Finland, nature has always been my sacred place - a source of peace and grounding. I believe there is no true well-being without forests and wild, free nature. There’s something magical about the forests, the lakes and the stillness in here. Walking in the woods, I feel a deep sense of belonging, like I’m part of an ancient chain of life.

It's this connection and deep sense of peace that I aim to share through my photography.

Q. How Does Sustainability Quide Your Work?

"Sustainability is at the heart of everything I do. I believe art should be created responsibly, with respect for the world around us.

That's why I chose a local, family-run print house that shares my values and use eco-friendly processes. I also offer Hahnemühle Hemp paper as a Fine Art option - which is not only beautiful but natural and ecological.

All our products are made to order. That way there is "no waste" and we print only what is needed, what has a home."

Q: Why Did You Choose Photography As Your Creative Path?

"Photography has been a constant companion since I got my first camera as a teenager. It was always there, quietly nudging me with that "what if?" question. But it wasn’t until 2024, thanks to The Epiphany Collection, that I had the courage to fully embrace it as my true calling. Photography allows me to bring people peace and wonder and gives me a way to speak for nature in a way words alone can't."

Q: How Would You Describe Your Style

"My work focuses on the beauty of ordinary things that are often overlooked -tiny details, quirky flowers, and vibrant colors. I don't aim for perfection because, to me, perfect is boring! Instead, I love to evoke emotions, reminding people of the value and uniqueness in everyday life. Everything you see in my images is real -no AI, just the magic of nature."

Q: What's One Thing People Might Not Know About Your Work?

"My creative process can get quite physical! I often find myself crouching, balancing, and crawling through fields or forests to capture the right angle or tiny detail. It's not always glamorous, but it’s worth it. And yes, yoga is my secret weapon to recover from those
awkward shooting positions!"

Q: What's Your Favorite Season?

"Summer and fall are my favorite seasons for capturing nature’s magic. There’s something about the richness of summer colors and the warm, golden light of autumn that draws me in. Each season brings its own unique beauty, but those late summer days when the air is warm, and the flowers are in full bloom hold a special place in my
heart.

Outside my photography, fall and winter are my seasons. Those cozy, dark evenings, crisp mornings and beautiful frost that covers the land... There's something really special, magical in there."

Q: How Do You Recharge When You're Not Working?

"I'm all about quiet, calm evenings and doing things that bring me joy.

Maybe it's a tea and a good book. Maybe I sing Taylor Swift songs from the top of my lungs (sorry neighbors).

Watching documentaries (I love science and history!) and expanding my mind. Spending time with my loved ones, both two and four legged ones (I have a cat named Lara, she's the boss here).

Yoga and movement is also very important to me - some days finding the motivation is easier than others but I try to move everyday one way or another. And evening yoga I never skip! It's essential for my well-being as winding down is tricky for me."

Q: What Did You Do Before You Pursued Arts?

"I worked for years at one of Finland's largest media houses as a Digital Developer, as well as in digital marketing.

My background is, in fact, very tech -heavy, and I've studied a LOT (six degrees and still not done). My first business venture was in web development, which I loved but it was a little too tech focused.
However, I still make websites for myself, family, and friends and enjoy it a lot.

After that I worked as a Business Coach for a year before leaping to the arts. I might someday combine these two.

I also have a very strong background in sales and customer service. My clients are always top priority for me - ones you get something from me you're considered family."

Upcoming Exhibitions

While I’m currently taking some time to focus on creating new work, exciting things are always on the horizon! Keep an eye on this space - I can’t wait to share where my art will find its next home.
