Look up

Look up

Look up, look up
from that tiny screen.

Can’t you see me,
gleaming softly just above you?

I remember your mother,
dancing with me on summer eves.
Your father, playing pirates and princes
within my trees.

And you — I remember you too,
when your heart still sparkled
with wonder and soft ohs,
when your bare feet
knew the paths by heart.

So why won’t you
lift your gaze
and meet my light
once more?
