Come To Work With Me On A Regular Tuesday!

Is it only me or do "artists life" still have a certain level of glorified mystery in it? Well, let's shed that off shall we!

I was looking at my to do-list and it said "write a blog post". Yes, very clear note. No subject, no nothing. I really need to work on my task planning skills...

Now, I probably thought writing a myth infused article when I wrote that note but then I thought why not take you to work with me? On a regular, nothing fancy Tuesday.

9AM

My alarm starts to wake me up gently. I switched couple of years ago to a "sunrise lamp" so instead of getting a heart attack first thing in the morning, it slowly starts lighting the room and raise the volume of birds chirping (they chirp the whole night as I need white noise to sleep though) until it feels like a rooster is screaming in to my ear. And I have to wake up.

Get up, head to bathroom and from there to kitchen and brew my coffee. And feed Lara. Two most important tasks. Make myself something for breakfast (honestly, I don't have appetite in the mornings so... whatever feels like is going down is what I go for. It can be a smoothie, yoghurt, rye bread...) and sit down with my brekkie and journal.

Journaling is something I started doing few months ago and I think it has brought certain level of calm into my daily life. In the mornings I tend to write my intentions for the day and affirmations, setting the right tone and mindset. I also like to listen to podcasts while I sip my coffee.

10AM

Open my computer.

First, check and answer my emails. I don't check my emails constantly, usually twice a day so I can focus on my on-going tasks.

Today my tasks are very marketing heavy and as I like to tackle the big ones first I'm opening Canva and Meta Ads Manager.

Even though I don't use social media, I do a bit of marketing in there in form of ads. So I'm setting up a new ad set for my newsletter (= my "social media" channel) - just to get others who are feeling overwhelmed and anxious about social media these to sign up for my little letters from the woodlands.

Tried something new today with my visuals - we'll see how it goes! That's the thing with marketing: be curious, be brave, test new things and analyze the results.

I've been purposely adding more whim and tongue-on-cheek content (aka... my personality) into my messaging, breaking that glass ceiling that often is associated with fine art.

Making and launching the campaign took around an hour - visuals and texts take the longest. I'll see how they perform in couple of days and adjust if needed.

12.30 PM

Hop into my car and drive to pet store to get food for Lara. We've had quite a bit of health worries and went to doctor yesterday for blood work. Results should come tomorrow and.... Hope for the best. With a 14-year-old cat, it's always hoping for the best.

But as she has lost some weight, she's now on a fattening diet (never thought I would say that...).

13.30 PM

Back home, give Lara second doze of food and sit back at behind my computer.
Did some slight website adjustments, nothing major and few minor tasks (accounting etc.).

15.00 PM

Started writing this little post after pondering a moment what should I write today. I do have long lists of topics and myths waiting to get out but sometimes you just don't feel like picking something from the list.

15.30 PM

Emails. Nothing that needs to be tackled today so I close my computer and call it off.

16 PM
Dinner. I didn't have lunch today (I was planning to cook lunch but Lara needed food so... Lara wins) so I'm having an early dinner. And cook my weekly lunches tomorrow. Oh shoot I have to cook my dinners too! I guess I'm spending a lot of time in the kitchen tomorrow...

17.30 PM

Workout. It's been raining the whole day and the weather is just pretty grim so I'm going pilates today. And yes, Lara is helping me to blank as she usually decides to lay under my stomach. Someone likes to live dangerously.

8 PM
Shower, skincare and evening yoga. Evening yoga has been a game changer for me, helping me winding down at least a bit. My favorites are Yoga with Adriene and Charlie Follows - love both of them!

After all my evening rituals I take my tea cup and evening meal (usually fruits, veggies, bread and yoghurt/quark) and head to bed with a book.

So there you have. Glorified version (not!) of artists daily life. Today I didn't do anything creative (well, wrote some texts) which is kinda typical to be honest. I have certain editing days as well as photography days, which obviously lives and changes based on the weather and even seasons but most days it's "just business".

Which is what art business is. This is not a hobby but an actual business that needs to be taken care of properly so my clients can feel safe and secure and my art gets the attention it deserves. Which means marketing, connecting with you gals and guys, long-term planning and making sure that everything works smoothly.
I do have few new pieces that are launching... soon-ish and will be introduced firstly to my newsletter family but... I'll tell you about them later.
Now I'm off! Talk to you soon!
