In Finnish mythology, Aallotar is the daughter of the waves — a free, unyielding spirit born from the union of water and wind. Though she can appear gentle and calm, Aallotar is also free, unpredictable, and untamed, embodying both the soothing stillness and the wild, restless moods of the lake. She drifts between sky, land, and water — never fully belonging to any realm, yet shaping them all with her captivating presence.

This piece is a tribute to Aallotar’s dual nature: a spirit who soothes and stirs, whose beauty lies in her freedom to change, and whose waters invite us to embrace both peace and possibility.

"I am Aallotar,
daughter of wind and wave —
I may seem gentle and calm,
innocent as dawn,
but beware:
my mood can change,
unleashing a spirit you can’t tame.

You may seek my gentle presence,
enjoy my hypnotic essence,
but I am never yours to tie.

For I am the daughter of freedom,
ever-changing, ever wild —
ever-drifting from shore to shore."
